Everyday tasks become a challenge. A profound shock hits the parents, who will forever live with this profound grief that will never end. It's a full-time job, impossible to keep to any schedule. They must constantly care for their child, who needs them more than ever, leading to significant physical and emotional exhaustion.
Parents' professional and social lives have to be completely reorganized. So it's not just a matter of changing their schedule; it's a part of their identity—their career, their friends—that's put aside. It's often more than just putting things aside; it's a renunciation.
